SaaS Web App
A startup founder approached us to design and develop, from scratch, a subscription-based SaaS web application that enables retailers to create, manage, and track SMS marketing campaigns from a single platform. The goal was to deliver a simple yet powerful marketing tool that improves customer experience while helping businesses increase retention, customer lifetime value (LTV), and net promoter score (NPS).

Marketing and sales command center
Retailer can study marketing and sales stats of run campaigns using a rich filtering system. He is able to create, schedule, automate and manage personalized SMS campaigns. Same to campaign management, retailer has extensive control over sign up forms used to enroll contacts.
Targeted sends with surgical precision
Retailers compose campaigns in two modes: Marketing and Product. The builder handles recipient selection via Contact Filters — segmenting by keyword, gender, age range, state, veteran status, or custom product preferences. Dynamic token insertion personalises every message at send time.




We developed functionality for managing customer contacts that allows administrators and retailers to create, edit, and enrich detailed profiles with custom fields, preferences, keywords, and opt-in status—enabling accurate audience segmentation for SMS campaigns.

The engine behind conversational commerce
We developed functionality for building automated SMS message flows that lets retailers visually create and manage multi-step customer conversations. The Message Flow editor supports dynamic fields for names, products, prices, and orders, enabling personalized messaging at scale. It also includes branching logic based on customer replies and real-time previews for scenarios like order confirmation, out-of-stock messages, and purchase surveys.
Three paths into the subscriber list
Retailers grow their subscriber list via a customisable web sign-up form with QR code and embed widget, a keyword-based opt-in through Twilio number with configurable auto-reply, or a popup builder for their website. The survey builder captures rich profile data at sign-up — birthday, gender, custom questions — which powers audience segmentation in campaigns.



Buddy operates as a lightweight e-commerce engine. Retailers manage their full product catalog with SKU and inventory tracking, launch product-specific SMS campaigns, and fulfil orders — all from within the same dashboard.

Fulfilment tracked to the cent
Each order detail view shows the full product breakdown, shipping cost, state and county-level tax calculation, and the net payout to the retailer after Buddy’s transaction fee. Mark as fulfilled directly from the view.

Administrator Portal
Administrator can view retailers stats with a comprehensive filtering system, manage retailer accounts, manage referral requests and payouts for special product campaigns. Furthermore, the administrator has control over default campaign templates.

Account Settings & Integrations
Each retailer manages their subscription directly from their account — upgrading plans, connecting Stripe for payments, with Shopify and ShipStation available as upcoming integrations. Tax nexus configuration allows state-by-state and physical nexus settings for accurate order tax calculation.

We also designed and published a marketing website to present the SaaS solution, clearly communicate its value proposition, and support user acquisition. The website allows businesses to explore features, choose a subscription plan, create an account, and securely log in to the platform—providing a seamless transition from product discovery to onboarding.
